Innovation TL

Use of various instructional methods and pedagogical initiatives

  • The institution has well-designed, spacious lecture halls and well-equipped smart classrooms.
  • Lectures are delivered using a green board and chalk to explain theoretical concepts.
  • Smart TV boards in all classrooms assist staff members in delivering interactive lectures and demonstrations.
  • Staff members engage with students by asking questions on the spot, allowing students to clarify their doubts immediately.
  • To sustain quality, clarity of expression is maintained, and thought-provoking ideas are imparted to all students.
  • Test and previous years’ university question papers are discussed in the classroom.
  • Course instructors pose questions to encourage student interaction, and students are encouraged to ask questions to clarify their doubts.

Faculty members handling similar subjects are designated as content creators. From each department, one faculty member is assigned the role of Course Coordinator and Course Moderator to monitor the content and ensure the quality of question papers for Continuous Assessment Tests (CATs). This includes proper verification of course outcomes and alignment with Bloom’s Taxonomy levels. A snapshot of the e content posted in the Google classroom is shown in the figure below.

SAIL is an exclusive AI-powered platform developed by Sairam Institutions to evaluate students’ higher-order thinking skills. It incorporates three types of assessment methodologies: Subjective Assessment, Objective Assessment, and Coding Assessments. These assessments serve as direct tools for evaluating Course Outcome (CO) attainment.
The institution offers a Wi-Fi-enabled campus, fostering an e-learning environment where faculty and students can engage in discussions related to objective assignments. These assignments are administered through platforms such as Google Forms and the dedicated SAIL App, enhancing accessibility and interactivity in the assessment process.

Multimedia resources (videos, simulations, animations) are integrated to enhance understanding. Learning Management Systems (LMS), Google Classroom are used for structured content delivery. Students will be engaged through interactive quizzes, online assignments, and gamified learning activities.

Using real-time polling and response systems (e.g., Kahoot, Mentimeter, SAIL,Quizziz) to gauge student understanding. Promoting active questioning and encouraging students to challenge concepts through discussions.

Design structured lecture slides with a mix of text, visuals, and animations. Use storytelling techniques to make content engaging and memorable. Incorporate summary slides, key takeaways, and reflection points.

To improve the communication skills of the students, Group tasks were assigned to them by participating in Group discussions and Case analysis. A student demonstrating a case and involvement of students in a group discussion are shown in the picture.

The Department arranges a minimum one industrial visit for every semester in an academic year relating to the courses of the curriculum.

  • Industrial visit coordinator develops contacts, collects the addresses from the industries, plans for the industrial visits and sends e-mail/letters, approved by the management requesting the industry to grant permission for the students and accompanying faculty.
  • On successful completion of the industrial visit, the students are asked to submit a report, feedback and the analysis is made on the feedback collected.

  • The Institute in association with professional societies and chapters organizes various activities like symposia Hackathon, IEEE Xtreme programming competitions, Project expos, and Hands-on training for students to participate in and solve real-world problems.
  • Institute in collaboration with IIT PALS, HCL Technologies, to promote creativity and critical thinking among students through active participation in webinars, project competitions, and residential training organized by them.

Workshop and guest lecturers introduce new concepts, spurring participants to investigate it further on their own, or demonstrate and encourage the practice of actual methods. It’s a great way to teach hands-on skills because it offers participants a chance to try out new methods and fail in a safe situation. A sample list of workshop and guest lecturers organized has been shown in the table which is as follows:
